14 February 2008 -- The Secretary-General is pleased to announce that the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) between the United Nations/African Union and the Government of Sudan was signed by Joint Special Representative Adada and Sudanese Foreign Minister Deng Alor on 10 February 2008. The signing of this agreement represents a positive step forward in our efforts to deploy UNAMID, and the Secretary-General would like to congratulate all parties involved in the negotiations leading to the conclusion of the SOFA.
