16 March 2009 -- As part of their capacity building, UNAMID police continue to conduct training for Government of Sudan Police. Five-day courses in Human Rights, Gender-based violence and Child Protection, Community Policing, and Detention and Treatment of Suspects began on 15 March in North Darfur and South Darfur respectively.
Meanwhile, UNAMID Police conducted a total of 92 patrols in and around the IDP Camps and villages over the past 24 hours.
