The United Nations – African Union Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID) mandate ended on 31 December 2020 following UN Security Council Resolution 2559, concluding over a decade of peacekeeping efforts to stabilize Darfur and protect civilians.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon concerned about the situation in Kalma camp

29 July 2010 -- "The Secretary-General is concerned about the situation in Kalma camp between internally displaced persons (IDPs) supporting the Darfur Peace Process in Doha and others," according to a statement attributable to the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General."The Secretary-General calls on all concerned to address their differences through political dialogue and to refrain from any action that could incite violence.

The AU-UN Joint Chief Mediator and the UN-African Union Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID) are doing all they can to defuse the situation and facilitate reconciliation", according to the statement.
