The United Nations – African Union Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID) mandate ended on 31 December 2020 following UN Security Council Resolution 2559, concluding over a decade of peacekeeping efforts to stabilize Darfur and protect civilians.

JSR Adada meets with Presidential Adviser in Khartoum

13 October 2008 -- UNAMID Joint Special Representative (JSR), Rodolphe Adada, had a meeting today with the Presidential Adviser for African Affairs, Bona Malwal, in Khartoum. The JSR briefed Mr. Bona Malwal on the work done by UNAMID to restore security and stability in Darfur as well as create a climate conducive to the success of the political process.

The Presidential Adviser and the JSR exchanged views on the need to re-energize the peace process in the Darfur.

In addition, the JSR, Rodolphe Adada, and the Force Commander, General Martin Luther Agwai, had a meeting with Government of Sudan officials to discuss the establishment of a Darfur Integrated Task Force (DITF) to address in a comprehensive manner the security concerns in Darfur by all sides. The DITF was established in the aftermath of the Kalma incidence of 25 August 2008.
