10 Mach 2010 - On 9 March, UNAMID, collaborating with other humanitarian agencies, conducted a mission to Taiba Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp, about 40 km north of Zalingei, West Darfur. More than 600 people, mainly women, children and elderly persons, have fled inter-tribal fighting in Khorramla village, east of Zalingei.The Mission began distributing water to the new arrivals, who have also started to receive assistance from agencies based in the region. Meanwhile UNAMID Civil Affairs continues its efforts to aid in the reconciliation process.
