30 March 2011 - An infant was shot on the evening of 28 March at the Hamidya internally displaced persons (IDP) camp, located just outside of Zalingei in West Darfur.
The injured child was taken to UNAMID’s nearby community policing centre for medical assistance, where she passed away despite efforts to save her life.
A Mission team was sent yesterday to investigate the incident. No further details are yet available.
