On 18 January 2015, UNAMID’s Civil Affairs section organized an Early Warning System forum in the Mission’s base in El Fasher, North Darfur.

Held under the theme “Early Warning for Peace Building,” the event was attended by 60 community leaders from the Zam Zam, Abu Shouk and Al Salam camps for internally displaced people, who discussed the collection and analysis of information from crisis-ridden areas to anticipate escalation of conflict, develop strategic responses and ensure accurate decision-making by relevant actors.
