I wish to congratulate all UNAMID staff and their families on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
Let this festive season bring out the best in all of us. This is a time where we should commit ourselves to goodwill, tolerance, and forgiveness.
If all sides bring their best and good faith efforts to the table, then 10 years of conflict could become the doorway to decades of peace and prosperity for Darfur and Sudan as a whole.
May this holy period of Eid al-Fitr guide us and foster our solidarity, so that peace may prevail in Darfur.
