22 July 2010 - UNAMID organized today a consultative meeting with the representatives of the civil society in Nyala, South Darfur, who had recently attended the Darfur Peace Negotiations in Doha, Qatar.

The discussion aimed at identifying achievements and gaps witnessed in the first and the second round of the peace process. The latter talks were described by several participants as the first "collective" gathering as it brought together a cross-section of civil society representatives, comprised of local leaders, including those of the Internally Displaced Person (IDP) community.

The participants pointed out several concerns, notably insufficient discussions on land and the absence of key rebel movements.
