The United Nations – African Union Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID) mandate ended on 31 December 2020 following UN Security Council Resolution 2559, concluding over a decade of peacekeeping efforts to stabilize Darfur and protect civilians.

20 June 2010 - UNAMID’s Human Rights section today concluded a two-day workshop on Pre-Trial and Human Rights for 20 prosecutors, lawyers and judges, organized in collaboration with the University of El Fasher’s Centre for Peace and Development Studies, in North Darfur.
The workshop addressed such issues as the standards of a fair trial, international human rights standards and national legislations, and gender issues.
