19 January 2011 - UNAMID confirms reports of the killing of a man in the market of Al Salaam internally displaced persons (IDP) camp, near El Fasher, Norh Darfur, on 17 January by Sudanese police. The motive behind the shooting is unknown. However, the officer was later arrested by the Sudanese National Intelligence and Security Service.
