08 November 2010 - A three-member delegation from the German Parliament led by Ms. Christine Buchholz today met with UNAMID Joint Special Representative, Ibrahim Gambari and other senior Mission officials to gain firsthand experience of the Mission’s activities in Darfur.
The delegation was briefed on the status of UNAMID’s deployment, its priorities and achievements as well as the main challenges affecting its operations. JSR Mr. Gambari expressed appreciation for the visit and commended the role played by Germany in supporting peacekeeping missions throughout the World.
