Closure of UNAMID

The United Nations – African Union Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID) mandate ended on 31 December 2020 following UN Security Council Resolution 2559, concluding over a decade of peacekeeping efforts to stabilize Darfur and protect civilians.

07 Mar 11 - Humanitarian assessment mission to East Jebel Marra

07 March 2011 - An interagency mission, escorted by UNAMID, today left Nyala, South Darfur, for East Jebal Marra. The assessment mission, which will last several days, includes personnel of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the UN World Health Organization (WHO), the Ministry of Health and UNAMID Humanitarian Liaison Office (HLO).
