13 May 2008 –Ongoing military activities by Darfur’s rebel groups as well as reprisal actions by the Sudanese Government and its allied militia are costing lives and limiting humanitarian operations in the strife-torn region, the United Nations Secretary-General says today.

10 May 2008 –United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today voiced grave concern over the fighting spurred by attacks by the rebel Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) forces that has broken out on the outskirts of the Sudanese capital Khartoum.

9 May 2008 –Speaking out against the recent stepped up violence between the Sudanese Government’s forces and a rebel group, the United Nations and African Union (AU) envoys spearheading efforts to reach a durable political settlement in the war-ravaged Darfur region today underscored the civilian suffering resulting from the fighting.
2 May 2008 -- UN/AU peacekeeping forces (UNAMID) succeeded, today, in organizing an operation to air-lift wounded civilians, following SAF air attacks on the village of Umm Sidir in North Darfur, yesterday.
