Final Communique of the National Conference: Towards Building a Sudanese Model for Transitional Justice

At the invitation of the Trilateral Mechanism (United Nations, African Union and IGAD) and the High National Committee on Transitional Justice (Civilian Alliance for Transitional Justice, national experts, and forces signatory to the Framework Agreement), the “National Conference: Towards Building a Sudanese Model for Justice and Transitional Justice” was convened during the period 16-20 March 2023 at the Friendship Hall in Khartoum.

The conference was an opportunity to formulate basic principles for building a Sudanese model for justice and transitional justice, which shall specify the texts of the final agreement on [justice] and transitional justice, and identify priorities, programs, and future policies, and the roadmap on which the upcoming transitional government must work and complete consultations that will be carried out by the Transitional Justice Commission.

At the end of it, the participants adopted a final communique in which they stressed their belief in the objectives and goals of the Glorious December revolution, namely "freedom, peace and justice," for which the Sudanese, especially young men and women, offered their pure souls as a gift for human dignity.
