Trust Fund in Support of Victims of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse
In March 2016, the Secretary-General launched the Trust Fund in Support of Victims of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, reaffirming the United Nations commitment towards strengthening its support for victims of sexual exploitation and abuse by United Nations personnel. The goal of the Trust Fund is to offer hope and dignity for victims — empowering them to rebuild their lives.
The Trust Fund works by filling gaps in services that victims need. It does this by working with a wide range of partners—including United Nations Secretariat entities, United Nations agencies, and non-governmental organizations that can make services available such as medical, psychological, legal, and socio-economic assistance, allowing victims to launch their own businesses. Importantly, children born as a result of sexual exploitation and abuse are also supported, with access to education. To read more please visit the Trust Fund website.
