El Fasher, 20 June 2016 - On 19 June 2016, the African Union – United Nations Joint Special Representative/Joint Chief Mediator, Martin Uhomoibhi, met with Ambassador Abdulghani Alnaeem, First Undersecretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other senior MOFA officials in Khartoum, at their request, to discuss the special AU-UN report on the situation in Darfur.

Mr. Uhomoibhi assured the Sudanese side that their concerns regarding the special report will be conveyed to the appropriate authorities at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

The decision on UNAMID’s mandate lies with the UN Security Council, following due deliberations.
