29 March 2021; A North Darfur State Government delegation led by its Governor, Mr. Mohamed Hassan Arabi (extreme right) visited UNAMID Logistics Base in El Fasher, where they met UNAMID’s Director of Mission Support, Mr. Houston Fergusson, who outlined the intent of Mission to collaborate with the North Darfur Government to implement its vision for utilizing the Logistics Base for multi-purpose community facility that will benefit a number of civilian institutes and programs. The Transition of the Logistics Base will be aligned to UNAMID’s Liquidation which will commence on 1 July 2021, after drawdown. A site visit followed the meeting as a prelude to planned series of engagement with the North Darfur Government to identify civilian end-users and transitioning parts of the Mission’s Logistics Base.
