26 October; UNAMID, United Nations Country Team, local community members including women and youth groups, internally displaced persons as well representatives of El Fasher University, belatedly celebrated the 75th Anniversary of the United Nations in El Fasher town, North Darfur. The event included a photo exhibition—showcasing the Mission’s legacy since its inception, Darfurimodel village, musical concert, cultural performances, and handicrafts market. A similar event was held on the same day, in Zalingei,Central Darfur, whose event included a drama performance on COVID-19 awareness, peace songs and cultural shows from UNAMID’s Gambian contingent.
