25 October; The UN Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations, Mr. Jean-Pierre Lacroix and the African Union Commissioner for Peace and Security, Mr. Smail Chergui held the 28th Tripartite Coordination Mechanism comprising the United Nations, the African Union and the Government of Sudan on UNAMID. The meeting, held in Sudan's capital, Khartoum, discussed issues surrounding the Mission’s ongoing transition and drawdown processes in the context of the recently signed Juba Peace Agreement.
