On 20 September 2016, UNAMID’s Rule of Law Section handed over to the government authorities a newly-built facility at the women’s wing, at the Shallah Federal Prison, North Darfur. The project, which is part of the Mission’s Quick Impact Projects, aims at strengthening the prison’s system capacity by providing a conducive environment for the rehabilitation of the female offenders.
