On 20 March 2019, UNAMID staff held a memorial service at the mission logistic base in Elfasher, North Darfur for the late Acting Joint Special Representative, Ambassador Abiodun Bashua who died in a plane crash on 10 March 2019. During the service, UNAMID’s Joint Special Representative,Jeremiah Mamabolo (pictured laying the wreath), praised the efforts excreted by the late Ambassador Bashua in pursued of peace in Darfur and pledged the Mission’s commitment to follow in his footsteps to achieve a lasting peace for the people of Darfur.  Photo by Amin Ismail, UNAMID.
