On 16 March 2017, UNAMID`s Communications and Public Information Section, in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture and Environment, held a peace festival in Mellit locality, North Darfur. Renowned Sudanese musician, Omer Ihsas, performed at the event, which is part of the Mission`s efforts to support reconciliation and peaceful co-existence among local communities in the area.
