Closure of UNMIL

The United Nations Mission in Liberia was established in October 2003 to support for the implementation of a ceasefire agreement and peace process, and to assist with the maintenance and restoration of law and order throughout Liberia. The mission successfully completed its mandate on 30 March 2018.

<p style="text-align: justify;">Coffee Break is UNMIL Radio&rsquo;s flagship news and current affairs program that highlights issues of concerns to UNMIL, government of Liberia, Civil Society and Grassroots communities. Issues such as peace and reconciliation, elections, women&rsquo;s issues, current events, governance, rule of law, electricity and road construction among others are captured in the program which is aired Mondays-Fridays.<br />Coffee Break today featured live interviews with the following persons and issues:</p>

<li style="text-align: justify;">James Kpargoi - Communications Specialist / Liberia Electricity Corporation -LEC begins testing of the fourth and final turbine at Mount Coffee Hydro plant</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">John Kollie &ndash; a Member of the Civil Society Coalition pushing for the legislature to pass the CRC bill of referendum speaks out</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Sam Collins - Police spokesman provided update on the operations of the LNP</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Momo Taylor - Head of Young Ambassadors for Peace said his organization partners with the Federation of Liberian Youth in brining Pan-Africanist and respected academic Dr. Patrick Lumumba to speak to the youth of Liberia</li>
