UNAMID Radio Unit has been broadcasting its radio programmes around Darfur since July 2011.Two of its flagship programmes are the Voice of Children; a weekly magazine style radio programme that is produced and presented by children aged 9 to 15 years old, and Yala Nebni Darfur (Lets Build Darfur); one-hour-magazine style radio programme focusing on themes related to UNAMID mandate. Both of these radio programmes are broadcast on radio Al Salaam 98.0 FM in Khartoum and 7.2MHz, 41 Meter Band SW in Darfur every day from 08:30 to 09:30 and from 14:00 to 15:00.

The radio unit has recently launched its new magazine programme, UNAMID Today, a 30 minute radio programme that highlights the Mission’s activities and human interest stories in Darfur. The programme is broadcast  on El Fasher radio, 95 FM and 801 AM every day from 9:30 to 10:00. 

The radio programmes are broadcast in Arabic.

    In this episode you will hear about training organized by UNAMID Women Police Network to Zamzam IDPs on methods to preserve foods for food security in their families.

    In this episode you will hear about physical and mental preparation of children in Darfur before taking school exam.

    In this programme you will hear an Interview with Hassan Ahmed Abdel Rahman El Nour, a cartoonist from Nyala, South Darfur, who has recently won cartoon competition in Khartoum, Sudan capital.

  • Yalla Nebni Darfur, Vol 2.10, May, 2018: Administration and prison operations course in North Darfur

    In this programme you will hear about a training course for prison officers organized by UNAMID, in cooperation with the Department of Prisons in the State of North Darfur, in the field of administration and prison operations.

  • Yalla Nebni Darfur, Vol 2.9, May, 2018: Problems faced Darfuri Women

    In this programme you will hear interview with women of Darfur in the vegetable market in El Fasher about their problems and concerns and an interview with a midwife, Kalthoum Volo, who talks about safe baby delivery.

  • Yalla Nebni Darfur, Vol 2.8, May, 2018: Interview with vocational training teacher

    In this programme you will hear an interview with Mohammed Abdullah Shalaby, a vocational training teacher from Melleit, about youths from across Darfur who have received vocational skills training, as part of the 16 Community based UNAMID supported Labour Intensive Projects (CLIP).
